Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does it make a difference that CleanPRO Detail Center hand washes their vehicles in an indoor facility?
A: Yes it does make a difference. Washing a vehicle inside of a building will keep the sun and heat off of the vehicle’s paint. That will help prevent the soap and water from drying up to fast which can cause spots in the finish. Also, an indoor facility will keep the wind from blowing dirt back on the vehicle which will cause scratches in the paint.
Q: How often should you wax your vehicle?
A: You should wax your vehicle every 3 months, or a good way to remember is just wax it every change of season. This will give your vehicle good layers of protection from the weather.
Q: I am always in a hurry, is it ok to just run my vehicle through the automatic car washes?
A: We are all always in a hurry these days, never enough time in a day. Cheap and fast now through an automatic is going to be expensive later at a detail shop, because we are going to have to remove scratches that automatics will cause.
Q: What if I run my vehicle through the touch free automatics, will it harm my vehicle?
A: The touch free automatics use a very strong detergent to remove the dirt from your vehicle without touching it. So just imagine what it is doing to your finish. It will strip the wax from the paint, then once your wax is gone and you continue to go through the automatics it will eat away at your clear coat and then on to the color. It will also strip away the glossy finish from your wiper arms, black rubber molding and trim, and black plastic trim.
Q: What are all these swirl marks in my paint that look like a hologram effect? Can they be removed?
A: Swirl marks are most often the result of a bad buff job or they can be caused by improperly washing & waxing a vehicle in the open air. If an inexperienced person uses a high speed buffer to remove scratches from the paint and they use the incorrect steps and product, it will cause swirls and buffer marks in the finish. By washing and waxing a vehicle outside in the exposed air, you have greater possibilities of the wind blowing dirt back on the vehicle and then you are just rubbing that dirt into the paint when you wash it then wax it. At CleanPRO Detail Center, we take all the necessary steps and procedures to make sure that we produce a “swirl free” finish. Swirl marks can be removed if it is not too severe.
Q: I have these water spots on one side of my car, I’m not sure what are they from. Any ideas why it is only on one side and they won’t wax off?
A: Most often if we see a vehicle with water spots only on part of a vehicle, our first question that we ask is, “Do you water your lawn”? Water that comes out of your sprinkler has a lot of iron in it that will cause spotting. They can be removed with compounding.
Q: Is it really worth it to have your vehicle professionally detailed?
A: Your vehicle is one of your biggest investments, next to a house and or a business and kids, so you should always take care of your investments. Having it detailed by CleanPRO Detail Center will keep your vehicle looking new for as long as you own it, whether if you keep it for a year, 5 years, or 10 years or longer.
